About this product

BLUE Health Cover is a suite of health insurance products offering a comprehensive set of health benefits to employer groups in Kenya and across the continent of Africa. [mks_toggle title="What does the Plan cover?" state="open"] Medical insurance products usually fall into two main classifications. These are the outpatient covers and inpatient covers. The Blue health cover in patient cover has the following benefits.
  • In-patient accommodation
  • Accident and non chronic conditions
  • Maternity and maternity complications
  • Cancer treatment,Organ transplants &Kidney dialysis
  • Psychiatric hospitalisation
  • Prosthesis
  • Ambulance services.
Benefits from the out-patient cover:
  • consultations (GP and specialist), pathology, basic radiology, other diagnostic
    tests and auxiliary services.
  • Dental services
  • Optical services
[/mks_toggle] [mks_toggle title="Who is eligible for the cover?" state="open"] The cover is suitable for any person who is in employment or has a regular income.It caters for health care needs across a number of different income brackets to ensure the most comprehensive cover.[/mks_toggle] [mks_toggle title="Which plans are under the Blue health cover?" state="open"] Insurance is usually paid in premiums and to make it easier for payment and comparison,plans sold to individuals are grouped in standardized tiers.The blue health cover has five plans namely:
  • Blue core- Offers in–country cover to families living in Kenya for hospitalisation, Chronic Care and Major diseases. Outpatient benefits are not available under this option.
  • Blue lite- Offers cover to families living in Kenya for outpatient treatment, hospitalisation, chronic care and major disease benefits
  • Blue classic- Offers more comprehensive cover within greater East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan) for outpatient treatment.
  • Blue plus-Offers coverage within the African Continent for outpatient treatment, hospitalization, chronic care and major disease benefits it also offers international emergency evacuation with extension to India where treatment is not locally available.
  • Blue elite-Offers a World Wide benefit option that offers more comprehensive cover for outpatient treatment, hospitalization, chronic care and major disease benefits and it also includes international emergency evacuation.
